Come join in the fun at Champaign-Urbana’s BUDDY WALK on Saturday, October 4th 2008 at the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana. Registration will begin at 9:30 in Kessler Hall and the 1 mile walk will begin at approximately 12:00. Download the brochure.

KAREN GAFFNEY
Karen, a 29-year-old from Portland Ore., has a college degree, and is a public speaker advocating the abilities of people with Down syndrome with her own non-profit, The Karen Gaffney Foundation. She believes that she can help raise expectations of the capabilities that fellow students with Down syndrome or other disabilities have to contribute to the world around them, and to be a friend to others. Swimming since she was nine months old, she has competed in the Donner Lake Swim and the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. She’s even crossed the English Channel on a relay team. She has recently completed a nine mile swim across Lake Tahoe helping to raise money for the nonprofit National Down Syndrome Congress. To learn more about Karen, visit www.karengaffneyfoundation.com
